So it is about time we brought the flowers and champagne for all the super mums this weekend. Yes they have been banks, councillors, taxi services, cleaners and cooks since we can remember. So what’s one day in 365 to celebrate their efforts and love!
I have spent some time this week trying to think of a…less generic way to spend Mother’s Day this year. There are so many options but the ones that have jumped out to me don’t require spending a fortune on gifts, but rather spending time making wonderful memories; a surprise day out or a concert perhaps? However these are not always cost effective options, so how to be cost effective and sentimental? Well of course all mums love a good gift (even they say they don’t want anything). So why not make your mum a CD of all her favourite tunes from throughout the decades! You could include songs that you remember listening to together from your childhood, her wedding songs, and her old favourites. You could even the cover the CD case with an old school painting you did when you were five! I’m sure she’s still got some.
Music is so emotive, and as we all know sometimes you only have to hear the first few seconds of song that is special to you and you are immediately transported back to that moment and feeling. We hope that music plays a big part in your Mother’s Day celebrations and we wish all you mums out there out truly lovely Mother’s Day!
