Music For promotes young classical musicians

Daniel Collins, a professional classical singer and soloist with the internationally acclaimed vocal ensemble The Sixteen, and other world class choirs, has achieved so much through hard work and dedication to his trade. Daniel recognises that he would never got to this stage in his career without the support and space to perform given to him by others: something which he strongly believes should be available to all young musicians. Now he is keen to encourage and nurture other young singers and instrumentalists by providing them with a platform to showcase their skills. To this end he has produced an inspirational series of concerts to do just that.

As producer and artistic director of MusicFor Daniel is proud of his new concert series: he says ‘I am hoping MusicFor will continue to grow to its full potential and become a prime showcase of the country’s finest young talent’.

Each series contains four season-based concerts featuring some of the best young professionals in the country. The inaugural concert ‘Music for an Autumn Evening: Celebrating 20th-century British choral music’, conducted by Daniel, takes place at 8pm Thursday 20th September in the beautiful surroundings of Holy Trinity, Stroud Green. The concert features Hubert Parry’s Songs of Farewell. The second series, ‘Music for a Winters Eve’ is already planned for November, also at Holy Trinity Church.

Daniel himself has had a busy year, the highlight of which was singing in Rome with The Sixteen and the Britten Sinfonia performing Sir James MacMillan’s Stabat mater, beneath Michelangelo’s stunning frescos on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome, the first ever Facebook Live broadcast from the Vatican.
